Cosmetic Dentist Kensington

Here at Blythe Road, we offer a range of cosmetic dental treatments, designed to improve the appearance of the teeth and gums.

While general dentistry treatments concentrate on improving mouth health, cosmetic dental treatments can be used to create white, even smiles and symmetrical gums in a healthy mouth. Increasingly popular with the general public as well as celebrities and social media stars, cosmetic dentistry gives those ashamed of their healthy but attractive smile a chance to correct it.

What types of cosmetic treatments do you offer?

When visiting us in the clinic, you can expect a range of cosmetic treatment options, including:

  • Porcelain veneers
  • Porcelain crowns
  • Dental implants
  • Cosmetic bonding
  • Tooth whitening

Your dental professional can give personal recommendations based on your preferences and the current condition of your teeth to ensure that your treatment has the best chance of success.

Composite bonding

Cosmetic bonding sometimes referred to as composite bonding, is used to alter the appearance of individual teeth.

Cosmetic bonding can:

  • Reshape individual teeth
  • Close small gaps
  • Repair defects, including chipped teeth.

The bonding material is matched to the colour of your natural teeth and expertly moulded over the tooth before it is set in place with a UV light. If cared for correctly, cosmetic bonding can last for up to 10 years, and treatment can be completed in as little as one appointment.

Teeth whitening

Simple, quick, and painless, tooth whitening allows you to remove stains and lift the colour of healthy teeth, brightening the smile and helping you look more youthful. At Blythe Road, we offer two types of tooth whitening, home or in-chair whitening.

Home Whitening

Home whitening is the most economical option, which utilises custom dental trays and topical application of a whitening gel. Home whitening starts with a consultation and the taking of dental impressions, which are used to create custom-fit whitening trays that fit your teeth perfectly.

In the comfort of your own home, the patient then applies whitening gel to the dental tray and wears it for 4 hours per day, for 14 days. Not only is this treatment option more economical, but it limits the time in the clinic, can whiten the teeth by up to 8 shades, and can last for as long as 3 years.

In-chair whitening

At Blythe Road, we offer Zoom whitening- one of the fastest whitening systems available in the world. During treatment, a higher-strength whitening gel is applied to the surface of the teeth, before you are exposed to a high-intensity plasma arc. This produces a much faster transformation, which is noticeable at the end of the appointment.

Patients can expect to see a brightening of up to 8 shades lighter in as little as 2 hours, which can last for up to 3 years. For those worried about the correlation between tooth whitening and sensitivity, you will be pleased to note that laser whitening, as with the Zoom system, causes 73% less sensitivity than other in-chair systems.
